About the role
The leader of a variety of complicated site works with both internal and subcontractor crews reporting directly to you the Civil Supervisor is accountable for the practical delivery of a variety of different projects. These will include but are not limited to; high level earthworks, 3 waters and roading maintenance.
In this role we're looking for an experienced leader who can juggle many different aspects of a civil job and changing priorities. This role will see you steer the ship to ensure that KPI's are being met and you'll need to be able to plan ahead to anticipate upcoming problems and increases in workloads so you can appropriately allocate resources to the right area.
All civil work is delivered through people and our client has great people and partners. Part of the civil supervisor role will be about inspiring people to be the best they can be as well as upskilling others so they can be more for themselves and the client.

Who are we looking for?
Our ideal candidate will be a leader of people. Someone who can inspire and drive people to deliver daily and with the ability to coach and develop the people around them.
You'll need to be able to plan meticulously and react on the fly to changes within the site and the plan. Someone with high levels of resilience will be needed as things don't always go to plan and a cool head and practical problem solver will be needed to get through during these times.
Prior experience managing civil sites would be an advantage, however prior experience managing infrastructure and construction projects would also be valuable and have some transferrable skills. So if you're a great foreman wanting to get on the pathway to becoming a supervisor, or, a supervisor currently looking for your next opportunity then this role could suit you.
In addition to the above to be successful in this role you'll need:
- A full New Zealand Drivers Licence as a minimum (higher classes of licence ideally)
- The ability to pass pre-employment checks including; Drug and Alcohol and criminal history
- The right to work in New Zealand and relevant documentation to prove it
- A current CV with contactable references
