AWF is looking for a skilled engineer to assist our client who specialises in the sales and servicing of high quality machinery and equipment for the horticulture and viticulture sectors.
Our client provides a massive range of equipment for a range of applications, this includes; grape harvesters and their implements, frost fans, wood chippers, battery powered harvesting tools and so much more!
This is a role where you can apply some of your already developed engineering skills and also grow a heap of new ones. If you like to do the same thing day in and day out this probably isn't for you.
But if you don't mind trying your hand at a range of things with the support of an established and skills group of co-workers then this might just be the opportunity you've been looking for.
The work will involve servicing and repairs of a wide range of equipment within a workshop environment and during harvest season this will likely also require some on site repair work of viticulture machinery.
You will likely start with the things you're already comfortable and skilled in and with time be introduced to more and more of the businesses range of equipment.
Who we're looking for?
We are seeking someone reliable, who's practical and has some engineering skills, however we appreciate the share variety of equipment our client sells and services so it's not essential that you have all of the skills and experience on all of the gear.
Some of the key skills we're looking for are;
- Working with and fitting hydraulic hoses including fault and leak testing.
- Engineering for food processing factories (ideally with the use of freezers or conveyors)
- Prior experience with the repair and maintenance of tractors or farm implements
- Experience servicing or repairing any kind of heavy machinery
If you have skills in any of the above we'd be delighted to talk further with you. Skills can be taught and our client is keen to grow people to their full capacity, however to do this they need people who are able to work well within a team and who're able to work with a variety of people.
To be successful in this role you'll need to be able to communicate in English well with (both your peers and also at times with customers) and be willing to listen to the experience around.
A lot of the equipment is big, and so are the spare parts, so you will need to be physically fit and able to lift up to 15kgs relatively regularly.
In addition to the above you'll also need the following;
- The ability to pass pre-employment checks; including drugs, alcohol and criminal history
- The right to work in New Zealand and relevant documentation to prove it
- A current CV with contactable work references
If you fit the above and are keen to take on this opportunity then don't delay apply now! You can apply by clicking "apply" below and attaching your current CV, by emailing your application to blenheim@awf.co.nz or if you'd like further information then give us a call on 035793900
