We are looking for local talent for our Amazing client who is NZ leading and largest provider of food and support services across multiple industries!

We are seeking a Chef to work at a College in Otane preparing and serving meals for hostel students. you will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and serving high-quality food in line with the contractual requirements of the unit. You will ensure all tasks are performed with due regard for Health and Safety and Food Safety regulations. This role best suits an individual with an amazing atittude and capable of working in an environment with students. Humour is also important as stuents like to have a laugh with staff.

This is a temporary part time Weekend work only Saturday 11am - 7pm and Sunday 8am - 7pm

untill end of the year starting ASAP - Payrate depending on experience / travel distance.


Your responsibilities:

Reporting to the Unit Operations Manager you will:

• Prepare, cook, and present food, ensuring quality control and consumer satisfaction.
• Order, receive, and store kitchen supplies, maintaining proper inventory levels.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen, including equipment and surfaces.
• Develop menus to meet special dietary and cultural needs of customers.
• Coach and support colleagues, fostering a collaborative team environment. There may be times you might be working alone so need to be confident in that regard.

The ideal candidate will have:

• an NZQA Level 4 Certificate in Cookery or equivalent.
• previous experience cooking in a similar environment.
• the ability to work under pressure while maintaining a positive outlook and professional manner.
• a strong communication skills and a team player attitude.
• to be physically fit, reliable, and able to pass a police clearance.
• Able to Pass a Drug And Alcohol Screening.
