Workers for Beef Production Line

Location: Hawera
Job Type: Temporary
Reference: 200193245_1614828362
Salary: Competitive Rates

Roles: Need work? Live in Hawera or somewhere near and can get to work each day? Fit and strong? We have a variety of temporary roles available for an immediate start, many of which will run for the rest of the season. From the time an animal enters the production line until the meat is packaged and stored in the chillers, there are many tasks. One of these may suit you. In all of these, the most important things are:

  • You are capable and comfortable working in an environment where animals are killed and processed to provide high quality meat for NZ and world markets

  • You are 100% reliable and will commit to turning up for work every day. You will be an important part of a team who rely on each other every day. Positive people with a positive outlook are really appreciated.

  • That you are drug free and can pass a test to prove it any time.

  • You are fit and strong enough to safely carry out manual work.

Experience is preferred but not entirely necessary as training will be provided to the successful applicants. You do have to be keen though.

If you have previous experience as a knife hand or butcher, trimmer or boner, perhaps even with chickens or other animals, we definitely want to hear from you.

If you think you could readily develop these skills, we also want to hear from you.

There are several roles that involve regular lifting and carrying of meat products and packaging. Some are boxes of up to 28kg, strong and fit people required.

There are roles that require working in the chillers. Again experience counts, but if you think you are physically up to it we still want to hear from you. Much of the work is repetitive but needs to be done to a high standard.

A current Forklift Safe Operators Certificate is a bonus.

There are currently two shift patterns available. These are 5am to 3pm, and also 3pm to 1am.

This is a great opportunity for regular ongoing work in Hawera!
