Hands-on role supporting complex marine and engineering projects!

We're looking for reliable and experienced Trade Assistants for a full-time temporary role with a respected engineering services provider in Devonport. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys physical, varied work in a team environment.

The Role:

You'll support trades teams on ship and shore-based maintenance and repair tasks. Your day could involve surface prep, coatings application, confined space monitoring, general labouring, and equipment handling.

Key Responsibilities:

• Hot Work, Confined Space, and Working at Height Sentry duties
• Surface prep (grinding, sanding, chipping, blasting)
• Painting/coatings application
• Assisting with basic welding and fabrication tasks
• Using hand and power tools
• Operating plant and equipment (if trained/licensed)
• General cleaning and site support tasks

Essentials:

• 5+ years' experience in an industrial, marine, or engineering setting
• Full NZ Driver's License (Class 1 minimum)
• Physically fit and safety-conscious
• Confined Space Entry
• Fire Extinguisher training
• Able to follow instructions and work in a team

Nice to Have:

• Gas Testing certification
• EWP licence
• Forklift licence
• Hiab ticket
• Working from heights certification
• Welding experience
• First Aid
