AWF New Plymouth are looking for a team of Trade Assistants to contribute to Shutdown work from July - September.

We're looking for motivated, reliable, and hard-working individuals who can work well in a team, follow instructions, and have a keen interest in growing their career within the engineering space.

The Opportunity

You will be required to assist the skilled/qualified team as needed, which could include but is not limited to lifting, carrying, moving material.

This is a position for someone who has a good understanding of the engineering industry and a basic level of general labouring experience.

On offer is consistent, full-time work for 3 months (staff are requested to work 6 days per week up to 10 hour days only) which will continue to advance your skills in engineering.

Accommodation can be provided with transport to and from the work site.

Competitive weekly wages are available, with Trade Assistants earning between $25-28 per hour. Time and a half is guaranteed after 8 hours (from Monday to Friday) and straight time and a half is on offer for weekend work (Saturday and Sunday). Night shift rates to be discussed if applicable.

What we're looking for:

• Be physically fit - average weight lifting roughly 20-25kg
• Good initiative and 'drive' to work
• Honest and hardworking attitude, with strong reliability
• Strong Health and Safety awareness and attention to detail

Before you start you will need to:

• Pass a pre-employment drug screen at AWF (and be subject to random drug screening on-site)
• Agree to a criminal record check
• Provide 1 referee we can contact (or supply a recent written reference)
• NZ Residency or be able to provide a Work Visa
