Steel Cutter / Workshop Support Person - Rotorua | Immediate Start

Join a well-established Rotorua steel manufacturing team in a hands-on Steel Cutter / Workshop Support role. This is a great opportunity for someone mechanically minded, safety-focused, and keen to secure full-time ongoing work with a strong pathway to permanent employment.
We are looking for someone confident working with steel, machinery, and factory-based material movement who can support multiple departments across the workshop.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Cutting a variety of steel lengths using saw-cutting machinery
  • Operating forklifts (F endorsed or OSH Forklift required)
  • Using the overhead gantry crane and selecting correct lifting gear
  • Moving material between internal departments
  • Delivering materials to an offsite building
  • Completing chrome runs (transporting tooling rolls to the chromer)
  • Transporting chassis for offsite blasting
  • Unloading delivery trucks and receipting steel into the system
  • Assisting with general factory support tasks as required

What You Need

  • F Endorsement or OSH Forklift certification
  • Full Class 1 Drivers License
  • Strong literacy skills and ability to follow instructions
  • High awareness of health & safety and basic risk assessment capability
  • Ability to recognise correct lifting equipment for each task
  • Previous experience with steel or workshop machinery is a significant advantage
  • Reliability, physical capability, and a team-focused attitude
