AWF are looking for a Sheet Metal Fabricator with a minimum of 2 years' experience for a full time position in Otahuhu. You should have a good command of English both written and verbal, and experience with fabrication of ducting units.
You will be required to assist in the workshop with fabricating sheet metal ducts used for heating and air conditioning on sites. The use of hand and power tools is required, including using angle grinders and drills - you should have access to your own tools.
Responsibilities:
- Setting up and operating fabricating machines to cut, bend, and straighten sheet metal
- Shaping metal over anvils, blocks, or forms using hammer
- Using hand and power tools including angle grinders and drills
- Operating soldering and welding equipment to join sheet metal parts
- Inspecting, assembling, and smoothing seams and joints of burred surfaces
The ideal candidate would have the following:
- Minimum 2-3 years experience with fabricating sheet metal
- Must have good sheet metal fabrication skills
- EWP certificate and Site Safe certification advantageous
- Your own tools
- Eligibility to work in New Zealand - NZ residency/citizenship or a valid NZ open work visa.
- For health and safety reasons we will require the right applicant to pass a pre-employment drug screen
