About the role:

Our client presently manufactures storage water heaters and boiling water units for sale, primarily within New Zealand and Australia. The manufacturing processes include but are not limited to the following: tank rolling, forming, welding (Arc, MIG and TIG), brazing, flaring, clenching, coining, piercing, grit blasting, spraying, enameling, hydro testing, foaming, Jacketing and general assembly. There are six major objectives for this position in support of the Production Supervisor. Production Team Lead responsible (not limited to):

  • Ensure production, quality, and safety goals are met.
  • Monitor production activity, identify process, equipment, component, assembly and finished part problems. Troubleshoot causes and develop solutions, notifying the Plant Manager of problems and solutions.
  • Coordinate work schedules, staffing requirements, and production sequences to maximize productivity.
  • Coach, guide and develop team members in relation to the execution of tasks, health and safety and product quality
  • Ensure adequate resources are available for effective execution of the production plan
  • Coordinate and deliver staff training, assisting to create and maintain training policies and procedures and on-board new staff.
  • Ensure Health and Safety procedures are followed and investigate any incidents
  • Identify issues/hazards and help to resolve them, and
  • Investigate causes of faults and initiate corrective measures
  • Monitor the quality of material, products and operating equipment.
  • Drive continuous quality and process improvement

To be successful in the role:

  • 2-3 years experience in production
  • Be enthusiastic and positive and create a positive team culture
  • Previous experience in engineering or technical industry will be advantageous
  • Communicate well both written and verbally
  • You must be eligible to work in NZ
