We are looking for an experienced Landscaping Carpenter to provide the trade skills, knowledge, experience and competency to undertake all aspects of carpentry, hard scape and landscaping work

Qualification/Skills Required:

  • Prior experience working in construction
  • Knowledge of building processes and standards
  • Ability to use and maintain tools and equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret building plans
  • Valid full class 1 drivers licence

Tasks:

  • Read building plans for the project and determine the most suitable steps and materials required to undertake the job
  • Build across all aspects of outdoor landscaping including but not limited to decks, fences, carports, boardwalks, retaining walls paving and mowing strips as per plan and management instructions
  • Assist in the construction of walls, retaining structures, laying kerbs, timber edgings, concrete block paving, slabs, stone, paths/surfacing, concrete slabs to industry standard and according to design specifications
  • Doing paving-all aspects of paving including but not limited to: setting foundation levels and heights and falls(establishing base heights), screeding to the appropriate falls and levels, laying, cutting and haunching
  • Assist in the erection of various types of fences as per management standard and according to design specifications
  • Prepare concrete form work and placing concrete as per industry and management standard
  • Assist in the installation of land drainage and surface water drainage systems
  • Assist in the cultivation and preparation of ground for turfing, seeding or planting
  • Assist in the mulching of planted areas with bark, or similar materials
  • Use hand and power tools to cut and shape materials
  • Operate and maintaining equipment including concrete saws, tile/wet saw, compactor and other machinery

Compliance:

  • Comply with all company H&S requirements
  • Ensure awareness of policies and procedures
  • Report all accidents and near misses
  • Ensure awareness of site hazards and read Hazard Register
  • Raise any hazards, safety issues or concerns with the Director or other senior members of the company
  • Raise concerns with Directors of observed non-compliance with H&S programme
  • Wear safety gear (Personal Protective Equipment) as required
  • Complete any other H&S paperwork as requested You must be drug and alcohol free
  • You must have a clean criminal history
