The role

This is not your typical Laboratory Technician role; you must be willing to get stuck in, get your hands dirty and get to work on the frontline from time-to-time.

This can be a labour intensive role with lots of moving around so you'll also need to be physically fit. On a typical day, you can find yourself sampling stockpiles form Asphalt Plants and quarries and samples of Asphalt.

You will be mixing up to 40kg of aggregate with binders and lifting compacting blocks - our moulds are 8-10kg and the Asphalt on top of that is another 5-7kg.

What you'll bring to the role:

  • At least 1-3 years of proven and extensive laboratory experience, preferably in the civil engineering field (optional but advantageous)
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of ISO 170125 (optional but advantageous)
  • Good computer skills including word-processing and spreadsheet skills
  • A valid, clean, and current Class 1 driver's license
  • Ability to follow procedures and processes
  • Be extremely focused
  • Have excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work at night and during weekends when required

What we can to do for you:

  • Opportunities for ongoing work
  • Fair pay rates and your wages paid weekly
  • As our employee ( not contractor) you'll get holiday pay, sick pay, ACC you're entitled to, and we'll pay your tax.
  • A great working environment and team to work alongside

You will also need to:

  • Provide a pre-employment drug screen
  • Agree to a criminal record check
  • Have 2 references from previous employers
  • Have NZ residency/work permit
