Experienced Poultry Stock Person

• Free Range layer farm, East Otago
• On-call rotating shift roster, including weekends
• Full time, permanent position; hourly rate $20.98
  
  Our client has a vacancy for an experienced Stock Person on their East Otago free range layer farm. They are a well-established nationwide producer of egg and egg products, and the free range farm is recently established in the area.
  
  This position requires previous experience within the free range laying industry, and will include out of hours, on-call responsibilities (1 week in every 3). Due to the on call requirement the successful candidate must reside with 15 minutes of the site. The radius would include Hampden, Moeraki or Palmerston; no accommodation is offered with this position.
  
  This hands-on position works to ensure that eggs are collected in an efficient and effective manner in compliance with all Company food safety, bio security policies and procedures. Key tasks will include-
  
  Daily cleaning of the free range sheds and the external areas
  
  Collection of eggs, bird handling, and ensuring animal health and wellbeing.
  
  Cleaning out sheds in preparation for restocking of livestock
  
  Adhering to all Company bio security and health & safety policies and procedures
  
  To be a success in this role we seek an experienced poultry stock person who has the knowledge and background to manage the on call responsibility, and to safely handle livestock. The role will require you to work on a rotating shift roster that covers 7 days of the week, to be physically fit, to have good written and verbal communication skills, and to work well in a team.
