AWF are looking for Duct Fitters who have a minimum of three years' experience for 50 positions across Auckland. You should have a good command of English both written and verbal, and experience with installation on local NZ construction sites.
As part of your role, you may be required to travel between various locations including Wellington, Canterbury, and Otago.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Minimum three years proven hands on experience or relevant level 4 qualification
- Ability to study blueprints and drawings to determine job requirements including materials, sequence of operations and equipment required
- Setting up and operating fabricating machines to cut, bend, and straighten sheet metal and fitting those fabricated metal parts and assembling to produce machines and equipment
- Checking fabricated and assembled metal parts for accuracy, clearance and fit using precision measuring instruments
- Shaping metal over anvils, blocks, or forms using hammer
- Forming metal stock and castings to fine tolerances using machining tools to press, cut, grind, plane, and drill metal
- Operating soldering and welding equipment to join, fit and assemble metal parts and subassemblies to fabricate production equipment
- Inspecting, assembling, and smoothing seams and joints of burred surfaces
- Erect equipment and machines on site
