Our client with locations in Mount Wellington and East Tamaki is looking for CNC Machinists on afternoon shift working Monday - Thursday 3:30pm - 1:30am, allowing you to enjoy a three-day weekend or optional overtime!

You will be joining a highly skilled team in one of the largest machine shops in the Southern Hemisphere. We have a range of positions available for experienced and self-motivated machinists able to produce manufactured items to the highest quality level, undertaking short run, long run and bespoke one-off jobs using anything from 2 axis lathes, dual spindle Integrex machines to state-of-the-art multi pallet mills ranging from 3 to full simultaneous 5 axis.

Your duties will include:

  • Preparing and operating a range of CNC Machines to preform drilling, cutting, grinding and milling.
  • Read/interpret technical diagrams to choose suitable materials, method and sequence of events and machine set up. You will be required t
  • Load raw materials into the CNC machines for manufacturing.
  • Pre-start daily preventative maintenance on the machine
  • Checking products to ensure accuracy, clearance and fit with precision measuring equipment and update required paperwork.
  • Creating commands with the designated programme (Mazatrol) to complete commands
  • changing CNC tooling pieces for correct cutting, drilling, grinding and polishing within specific tolerances.

Skills and experience required:

  • Recognized Trade Qualification in CNC Machining
  • 2+ years experience in programming and setting/operating machines
  • Understanding of Mazatrol/Siemens and GibbsCam software beneficial
  • An excellent understanding of drawings and 3D models is also desirable
  • Attention to detail and a safe approach to engineering and manufacturing processes
