AWF have a great opportunity for a skilled forklift operator to join our client in their busy transport operation.

The role will be fast paced and will require experience as a forklift operator, you will be required to operate a container forklift and full training will be provided if you don't have prior experience with this machinery although the class 2 licence will be required so you can legally do so.

The work involves; loading and unloading trucks, and trains using the forklift, manually devanning of containers and pallets and accurately recording consignment details. For this role we need someone who is keen to operate the machinery but also will to get out of the cab and get stuck in with the manual work, if you're not keen on physical work then you need not apply. Full training will be provided on the systems and use of larger machinery but prior experience operating a forklift in a busy environment is essential.

This is a temporary role however there is potential for it to become permanent for the right person.

About you:

To be successful in your application for this role you will be a proven hard worker and keen for a mix of manual work and also machine operating.

You will be reliable and have prior experience in operating forklifts, you'll also be energetic and able to work as part of a high performing team of great people.

You will need to be able to communicate well and so a good grasp of the English language is important, you'll also need some basic computer skills however training will be provided in this area.

As well as the above you'll need the following to be successful in this role;

- A full class 2 New Zealand Drivers Licence with F endorsement

- Forklift OSH certificate

- Be currently residing in New Zealand and have the right to work here

- Be able to pass pre-employment checks including; Criminal History, ACC, Drugs and alcohol

- Have a current CV with contactable references
