Title: Cabinet Maker
Location: Albany, Auckland
Pay Rate: $29- $32 per hour
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Cabinet Maker for one of our clients, The successful candidate will be responsible to construct and assemble custom cabinets, furniture, and fittings based on detailed drawings. Operate woodworking machines such as panel saws, routers, and edge banders. Select and prepare materials like timber, laminates, veneers, and hardware. Finish surfaces by sanding, staining, varnishing, or painting. Install completed cabinetry on-site when required. Repair or modify existing cabinetry Ensure all work meets structural and aesthetic expectations Collaborate with other staff to complete tasks on schedule Maintain a clean and organized work area Follow company safety policies and comply with all health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate Wood working machines such as panel saws, routers, and edge banders
- Read and interpret technical drawings, plans, and specifications.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and procedures.
- Measure dimensions accurately using tools like rulers, calipers, and squares.
- Assemble parts using nails, screws, glue, and clamps.
- Create custom pieces such as kitchen cabinets, wardrobes, desks, and shelving units
- Transport and fit finished items in homes, offices, or commercial buildings
- Ensure everything is level, secure, and aligned properly
- Sand, stain, paint, or varnish wood surfaces
- Work efficiently to meet deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality
- Contribute to a positive team environment and uphold company values.
Skills and Experience Required:
- At least 3 years previous experience as a Cabinet Maker
- Read and interpret technical drawings, plans, and specifications
- Operate panel saws, routers, Edge banders and hand tools with skill and precision
- Collaborate closely with the supervisor, and other team members to ensure seamless integration into overall design concepts
- Clean Class 1 license
- Ensure all work is completed to schedule and to the highest quality standards
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
- Must have own tools
