Pricing transparency

We know that sometimes businesses wonder what exactly they are paying for when they use a recruitment agency to provide their temporary staff. At AWF we pride ourselves on being honest and upfront about our costs. This makes it easy to see the value of the service we provide when you choose us as your staffing partner. ​​

The biggest percentage of our hourly pricing goes towards paying our employees’ weekly wages.

All wages attract legislated oncosts that provide for Annual Leave and Public Holidays, Sickness & Bereavement Leave, Domestic Violence Leave, Kiwisaver and ACC levies. These are fixed costs of labour, regardless of whether you hire directly, or through a recruitment agency.

As with any business,  one of our goals is to ensure our organisation is profitable—for our employees, and for our shareholders. Through our success, we are better able to support local communities, and New Zealand. Our margin also needs to cover a range of administration and other costs, as outlined below:


Hiring Costs
All pre-employment activities are completed to a very high standard, and are covered in our pricing. Because we are able to leverage the infrastructure of AWF nationwide, the real cost of these services is typically lower than if you were to complete them yourself. These activities can include advertising and sourcing, interviewing, testing, pre-employment drug screening, NZTA driver checks, immigration ‘right to work’ verification and Ministry of Justice criminal conviction checks, along with other background and reference checks.

Training, Health & Safety and Communications
We have a mature and robust Health & Safety framework with policies, procedures and practices supporting our business to return our people home safely every day. We’re proud of our zero-harm culture, which is embodied in everything we do. This component of our pricing covers Health & Safety inductions and training, the provision of PPE, performance management, quality control checks, toolbox talks, safety alerts and site audit/safety inspections.

Weekly payroll processing, management of the employer/employee relationship of our field employees assigned to you, receipting and filling job requirements, briefing of staff, invoicing and accounts receivable, cost of finance on our weekly payroll and relationship management with our valued clients are also covered in AWF’s margin.
