What is temp work?
Temp work is by nature short term roles that can be anywhere from a day to a number of months, we call these assignments, through this work you are an employee of AWF but contracted to our clients for their undertakings. You're paid by AWF for the work you do. The work can be with any of AWF clients and acceptance of an assignment is not compulsory, if a job doesn't seem like it's for you then you don't have to accept it.
What kind of work will I be doing?
AWF mostly supply blue collar roles, this is mostly work that requires physicality and so if you're after office work we're unlikely to be able to help from a temporary capacity. We do have a range of permanent white collar roles that present themselves frequently however.
We select our candidates for assignments based on skills, licenses and experience and so not every assignment will be offered to every worker but some of the areas we frequently work within are;
- Civil and general construction
- Logistics (including loading and unloading)
- General Labouring
What will I be paid?
The rate of pay will vary depending on your assignments however we work hard to negotiate the fairest possible pay rates for each of our assignments. Some roles are easier than others and are paid at lower rates and some roles are more difficult or require specific licences or experience and these are paid at higher rates.
In addition to your weekly pay you'll accrue annual leave and we will take care of your PAYE and Kiwisaver contributions. We'll also supply you with all basic PPE for you to be successful and safe on site.
Sounds like it could be for me, what do I need to do now?
Here's a couple of things you will need to do this work with us;
- The right to work in New Zealand and documentation to prove it
- A minimum of restricted New Zealand licence and a vehicle to get to work
- The ability to pass pre-employment checks including drugs, alcohol, criminal history and ACC history
- Be a keen worker with a great attitude
- A current CV with contactable references
