Do you consider yourself to be a motivated, natural leader with the knack to problem solve and work to build a successful team?

As an Operations Manager you will be tasked with the initial set up and recruitment of your team to establish a base where train braking systems and componentry can be refurbished locally rather than crossing the ditch with a 6 or so week travel time. With 10-year contract you will be looking for steady growth in your career. Your primary focus will be setting up the Wellington division which will include recruitment, managing resource allocation, communication with internal and external stakeholders, overseeing day to day operations, providing "on the ground" assistance with refurbishment and more.

To be successful in this role, you'll need to meet the following criteria:

  • Provided experience in leadership, driving success and development within your team
  • Demonstrated high levels of communication with internal & external stakeholders
  • Efficient time management, delegation, and organisation skills
  • Relevant maintenance and service experience within one of the following: Rail (preferred), Engineering, Automotive or Mining industries
  • Implemented, developed, and maintained relevant protocols to ensure a proactive health and safety commitment within your team

You'll have the backing of an international brand who have been servicing this market in the UK and Australia since 1987 and are now expanding into New Zealand. The role will initially be remote as a location is scouted in Wellington, once this has been achieved you will swing into operations and commence developing the site and team. Our timeline would be a fully functioning and deliverable site by September 2022. If you think you can make this happen then please do not hesitate in applying now.

Alternatively, give the team a call on (09) 526 2635 to discuss in further detail.
