We are looking for a reliable and motivated individual on a temporary full-time basis who has experience working as a Lawn mower operator.

You will be a part of a team who will be responsible in the upkeep of 12 hectares of grounds i.e. mowing, trimming, leaf blowing and will be able to assist in burials. This role is based in a cemetery.

Note: You will need to pass a drug screen, disclose criminal convictions, and must have NZ citizenship/residency to apply

About the role

• Conducting efficient mowing rounds, maintaining the aesthetic appeal of our green spaces.
  
• You will be towing a trailer with a ride on lawn mower and other equipment
  
• There would be a need for manual handling where cleaning up sites from rubbish or grass remains, sticks and branches
  
• You would be required to work in teams and at time by yourself, meaning you would have to manage your own time schedule and workload.
  
• Pay rate of $27.00 p/h + KiwiSaver + ACC Cover + full PPE provided!

What you need in order to be successful

• Full Licence Required with Manual Driving Experience
  
• WTR required
  
• Is a NZ resident or Citizen
  
• Digger experience would be most preferable but training can be provided
  
• Physically fit as this can be at times a demanding job during the Summer and especially through Winter.
  
• An interest in horticulture/gardening/landscaping and/or construction.
  
• Great communication skills
  
• An approachable and helpful attitude

Hazards

• You will be operating a ride on lawn mower, so you need to use it appropriately.
  
• You will be in a different environment on a daily basis subjected to different environmental hazards.
  
• Examples are; working around other people, trips/slips, machinery operating close by, Loud noises, weather (cold, wet, hot) Sharp objects, manual lifting, grass/dirt/rocks/wood being picked up by a lawnmower or weed eater and being flicked into your body or your eyes. There will be use of other tools being used around you such as chainsaws, weed eaters, sheers and more.
