About the role;

AWF are seeking an experienced and dynamic practice manager for our client located in Invercargill, they are a well established medical practice with a long serving team. This is a unique role that doesn't come up every day and the successful applicant will definitely have their hands full but will also be rewarded in so many ways.

This busy role will entail managing all aspects of the practice, excluding the medical staff, it is a role that is suited to someone who is well organised and capable of multi tasking. Prior experience in the medical industry is not essential however experience in managing business operations is essential, as is a focus on wellbeing of the people in your community.

This role requires a hands on leader who is highly computer literate and can think for themselves to solve any problems or issues that arise. While beng accountable for the operation of the practice you will also be responsible for completing a number of things including;

  • ACC reporting
  • Site Health and Safety
  • Business Development and performance (including P&L and financial management)
  • Nursing home reporting and scheduling
  • Payroll, invoicing and debtor follow up

You will be leading a team of 2 reception staff and will help them to ensure that the needs of patients are kept the highest priority at all times.

Our client is very well establised in Invercargill having been in operation for over 50 years.

Following the retirement of a long standing partner, 2 new doctors have come on board with a drive and passion to deliver the best possible service and outcomes for their patients. This means they're in a period of change, they want to grow the practice and continue to provide high levels of care for their community.

They need a new energitic Practice Manager to come in and build on the amazing work of the predesessor, as an industry there is a move towards using technology to enhance the experience of their patients. To ensure that the business continues to be relevant and high performing for their patients they need someone who understands this and can help take them on this journey.

About you;

You will be a highly motivated leader who is experienced in business operations, your high levels of computer literacy will allow you pick things up quickly and think outside the square to solve problems.

As above experience in the medical industry isn't essential but a passion for people is a must, you will be working directly with clients so your amazing service skills, phone manners and grasp of the english language will help you to excell within this role and industry.

Your business accumen, developed through experience, will lead you to understand the nature of how this operation should fundamentally work, however you will also need to keep in mind that the primary objective is patient wellbeing and medical outcomes and this takes priority over everything else.

Dealing with sensitive information means to be successful in this role you will be able to keep confidences at all times and ensure that you lead the business with this in mind.

In addition to the above you will need the following to be successful in this role;

  • Prior business management experience
  • The right to work in New Zealand, and relevant documentation to prove it
  • Be drug free, pre-employment drug screening will be undertaken
  • Be able to pass pre-employment checks including; ministry of justice, ACC history, alcohol screening and credit checks
  • Hold a current full New Zealand drivers license
  • A current CV with atleast 2 work references (your references will be contacted)
