Our client is a well-established engineering company in the upper South Island who have expanded their business within the Auckland market. They provide both mechanical, automation and electrical services to their clients.

With the expansion of business here in Auckland, we have multiple positions available in Wiri for a Mechanical Assembler to help assist with assembly of new machinery inside a state-of-the-art automated warehouse being set up.

This role is full time Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm with overtime available outside these hours. This would be a great opportunity for someone looking for exposure and development in mechanical engineering.

Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

• Use of hand and power tools to assist with assembly of new machinery under supervision

• Assisting tradesman with their work

• Basic diagnosis and fault finding as and when needed

• Read and interpret mechanical drawings

• General housekeeping

• Opportunity to learn and do other easier mechanical fitting

To be successful, you will be:

• Mechanical aptitude and understanding of workshop health and safety

• Ideally you would have either a mechanical or automotive interest and/or background

• Punctual and have good communication

• Willing to learn and show a good attitude

• Able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screen
