This is an opportunity to make a start in construction or add to some skills you already have.

There has never been a better time to get into construction. Typically most people start out doing some labouring and slowly develop new skills which will lead on to higher pay rates and more skilled tasks.

We have locations in central Wellington and in the Eastern Suburbs.

If you have some skills then they will be used and developed. If you don't have any skills but have a positive attitude then you will be trained.

If you've done a pre-trade course then this could be the opportunity you've been looking for

If you are thinking of doing a pre-trade course then this is exactly what you should be doing.

Working for AWF means that:

  • You get paid weekly
  • You get paid for 20 days holiday each year
  • Plus you get paid for 11 Stat Days
  • And after 6 months you get 10 days sick leave

AWF has a laser focus on your health and safety:

  • All PPE provided and replaced as it wears out
  • Safety Engagement calls both face-to-face and over the phone
  • Regular H&S communications

In a recent survey of field employees who were leaving AWF for their next opportunity, 94% said that their work was recognised and valued by the team at AWF. These employees moved on to a range of great new opportunities, including 41% who took on a permanent role.

Helping people move into permanent roles is what we do.

If you are looking for a career change to something that will see you working on exciting projects where there is great potential to extend yourself then this could be for you.

You'll need to be able to get up early and get to the site by 7am and be prepared to work hard, and smart for the whole day, Monday to Friday.

After a safety briefing you will go about your duties which could include moving materials on site, cutting timber, installing insulation, drilling or one of the other many tasks that make up commercial construction. If you stick at it you will slowly learn to do more tasks.

You don't need transport because Public Transport works well for these sites.

You don't need any equipment or specialist clothing because it is all provided.

There are 2 things we do need. One is the ability to pass a drug screen and the other is a clean MOJ check.

You can apply by hitting the APPLY NOW button, by calling Bill on 04 473 9915 or by popping into 182 Thorndon Quay.
