A well-established family-owned business based in East Tamaki is seeking a qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic. This role will be varied within their maintenance team to assist in servicing and repairs of heavy plant and equipment, small plant and equipment, and trucks. We need someone who can work not only within a team but also works well autonomously.
As part of your role, you will be:
- Servicing of diesel engines - both manual and automatic gearboxes
- Pre-checks and road worthiness checking
- Maintenance of service machinery as and when required
- Servicing of Tractors, Farm Machinery, Forklifts, Diesel Engines and Road Diesel Engines
- Be able to use hand and power tools
To be successful in this role you will have:
- You must be a trade qualified diesel mechanic
- Minimum 3 years' experience servicing diesel engines and heavy machinery including Japanese and European engines
- Can think on your feet and confident in decision making
- Confident in carrying out mechanical vehicle checks
- Knowledge of auto electrics advantageous
- Recognise problems and diagnose issues
- Excellent communicator
