About the Role

AWF on behalf of our well established aquaculture client are seeking reliable people to assist in a variety of roles throughout their busy mussel factory.

There are a range of roles available including; grading, packing, washing, cooking and dispatch. Depending on your skills and capabilities will determine on what you end up doing, as these roles aren't for everyone, but we're more than happy to discuss with candidates what their preferences are and steer you towards these.

Mussel factories are busy and the work can at times be fairly repetitive, but you'll work within a well established team who are really driven to succeed and like to help people grow into their full potential.

These roles are Monday to Friday Night shift however we are also keen to hear from people only wanting a couple days a week as well because if we can make roster sharing work we're more than happy to look at these options.

Full training will be provided to all candidates to ensure you can be successful and the work would commence ASAP.

These are temporary ongoing roles however there is an opportunity for these to become permanent for the right people.

About the company

Our client is a very well established aquaculture company who have a huge amount of experience within a wide range of fishing operations throughout New Zealand. They are dedicated to delivering quality seafood to New Zealand and the world and they do this through their great people.

They hold safety and the environment to the highest regard and are always looking for ways to improve what they do to continue to be better every day. By continuously learning and developing they keep their team safe and also protect their business and the kaimoana that kiwis love.

What's in it for you

AWF love supporting our candidates to meet their goals, when it comes to what role you're interested in and we'll always look to try and place you into that work in the first instance but if this work isn't suitable then we'll talk to you about how we can help get you there.

These roles also come with a competitive wage of $23 per hour and of course working through AWF you'll also be entitled to all the normal entitlements such as annual leave accrued so when you need a break you can take one without financial stress.

All the gear to do the job is provided and we also have transport from our Blenheim office daily in our modern and comfortable vans.

You'll also get ongoing support and management by our awesome AWF consultants

What are we looking for

Due to the nature of this role face masks must be worn and exemptions will not be accepted

Reliability is a must especially with the van we need people who can be on time each day and who are physically capable of being on their feet all day.

We need people who hold safety to a high regard and who can get along well with others.

The work isn't very heavy but it is repetitive at time and they can take its toll so some fitness is needed.

We're not concerned about gender or ethnicity and welcome all applicants, the current factory staff are a diverse mix of many cultures and everyone is welcome to apply.

Being a food factory and having workers in a close proximity to each other means everyone is required to be double vaccinated against COVID-19 and have a covid passport, we're happy to discuss with anyone who has one vaccination and has their second scheduled but if you're not interested in getting vaccinated that's your choice but unfortunately this role isn't for you.
