Engineered Landfill Supervisor
AWF are seeking a skilled and motivated Engineered Landfill Supervisor & Operator to lead daily operations at our engineered landfill site in the heart of Marlborough.
This role is critical to ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, maintaining safety standards, and delivering efficient & effective site performance. Key Responsibilities: Supervise and coordinate landfill operations, including waste placement, cover application, and leachate/gas management. Operate and oversee heavy machinery including excavators, dozers, and compactors.
Ensure compliance with resource consents, environmental standards, and health & safety requirements. Lead and manage site staff and contractors to achieve operational targets. Monitor and report on site performance, including environmental monitoring and maintenance schedules. Liaise with regulatory authorities, engineers, and stakeholders as required.
About You:
- Current Class 1-5 driver's licences and Wheels, Tracks & Rollers (WTR) endorsements.
- Experienced in operating excavators, dozers, and compactors.
- Proven experience in landfill operations, civil construction, or related fields.
- Professional, consistent, and reliable with strong leadership skills - or someone who is ready to step up into a leadership role.
- Ability to maintain high standards and lead by example.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screen.
- Undergo a criminal history check.
- Provide work references.
- Hold the legal right to work in New Zealand.
