AWF Invercargill are seeking an experienced class 5 truck driver to assist our busy client working within the civil sector, with a heap of shovel ready projects on the horizon as well as the usual sealing and rehabilitation schedule our client has plenty of work ahead of them.

Working as part of a team of great people you will be involved in a number of roading projects that are situated throughout the South Island. This work will involve staying away for up to 2 weeks at a time with accommodation provided and an allowance of $60 non-taxable paid for every night you're away.

This is rewarding work and provides the chance for you to see the fruits of your labour and even travel on roads that you've assisted first hand in creating.

The role will largely involve the movement of plant and equipment to and from various sites, moving roading material and aggregate, spreading material on site and spraying. The roads will be varied and at times difficult and there is a need to be able to reverse a trailer with accuracy.

In addition to the driving you may be required to operate machinery such as; excavators, loaders and rollers (depending on licence endorsements you hold). You'll also need to be willing to assist on the end of a shovel or cover traffic management from time to time. So if you're not keen to get out of your truck then this is not the job for you, but if you're keen to put in some work and are fit and able then this could be your opportunity to join one of New Zealands largest employers and assist with their essential services.

This is a temporary assignment however it has permanent potential.

We're looking for people who are great at working with others and are easy to get along with, you'll be working, living and sometimes travelling, with the people in your team and so it's important to AWF that you have prior experience working in a team. You'll also need to be physically fit and capable of lifting up to 15kgs.

You'll need prior experience driving trucks with road ranger gearboxes and be keen to learn new things if you're from outside of the civil sector.

In addition you'll need the following;

- A Full New Zealand Class 5 Licence (WTR endorsements ideal but not essential)

- A current CV with contactable work references

- The right to work in New Zealand and relevant documentation to prove it

- Be able to pass pre-employment checks including; Drugs, Alcohol and Criminal History

- The ability to travel and stay away from home (accommodation provided and allowances paid)
