AWF are looking for a candidate consultant to join our busy Invercargill Branch, the work is fast paced and detail orientated.

Working alongside the Branch Manager you will be responsible for keeping the branch operating including completing AWF inductions, drug screening, reference checking and taking and filling job orders. There is also and element of Health and Safety administration ensuring that our clients and our candidates are safe and have what they need to be successful.

About the Role:

Candidate consultants are the gears that drive the AWF branches, they feild phone calls, follow up on our candidates when they're at work and screen new candidates.
The role is highly process driven however as the business is people based it requires adaptability and the ability to work efficiently to get things done.

The role has a very strong administration element and so a background in some sort of admin work would be a strong advantage.

Full training will be provided for the successful applicant to ensure that you're able to make the most impact through your role.

The role is demanding and everyday is a bit different, you meet a range of different people with a variety of skills and backgrounds and it's a great feeling when you can help them to get into the work they want to be doing.

The key deliverables for this role are;

  • Contacting new applicants in a timely manner
  • Completing AWF inductions
  • Incident investigation and candidate care
  • Branch payroll
  • Reference checking and other pre-employment checks
  • Candidate health and safety meetings
  • Fielding enquiries and new job orders


In addition to the above, there are further development opportuntities through working along side the branch manager and understanding all facets of the business. This is a two person branch and so the candidate consultant will be developed to be able to take the reigns of the branch manager when needed and ideally move into the branch manager role in the long term.

About you:

The successful client will be energetic and be able to manage a number of different things at once. They will have growth mentality and enjoy sharing in the successes of the branch itself and the spoils that come along with winning.

You will ideally have a background in administration but it isn't essential that you have a recruitment background, but you will need to be able to both give, and take feedback and have a willingness to learn.

You will have a strong command of the english language both written and oral. A high level of computer literacy is a must as most of the work is computer based.

In addition to the above you will need the following to be successful in this role;

  • A Full Clean New Zealand Drivers License
  • Be a New Zealand Resident
  • Be physically capable of basic manual handling tasks and walking
  • Be professional and presentable
  • Have the ability to pass pre-employment checks including criminal history, ACC and Drug Screening
  • Able to manage own time effectively
  • Be personable, knowledge of the local Southern area would be advantageous
