Leading the way in Health & Safety

When you choose AWF, you're in safe hands.

As a leading provider of 'blue-collar' temporary and permanent staff since 1988, with 21 branches spanning from Kaitaia to Invercargill, our approach to Health & Safety has been honed and refined by years of experience.

We prioritise the Health & Safety of our field employees, not only to mitigate risk and minimise losses in productivity for our clients, but because we truly care about our people and believe that everyone should go home safe - every day.

We proactively support injury prevention, creating unique Health & Safety initiatives and using frameworks like our Golden Safety Rules, so you can rest assured our staff are fit and ready for work at your site.

As part of Accordant, New Zealand's only recruitment group listed on the NZX, we're obligated to adhere to strict regulations, reporting, and audits to ensure high quality recruitment processes. Robust Health & Safety polices and practices underpin all our operations from induction and training through to onsite meetings and ongoing measurement of key metrics.

With a wide pool of candidates, and generally quick turnaround times to ensure minimal disruption to your services, our team make recruitment easy, taking care of most employment matters to help reduce your administration time and costs.

About our latest Health & Safety campaign

Our latest Health & Safety campaign, Warm Up for Your Team, encourages our employees to warm up before undertaking any physical activity in the colder months, and always think before they lift.

Analysis of our Health & Safety data revealed that some of the most common injuries during winter were strains and sprains caused by cold muscles, often occurring during tasks like heavy lifting.

To tackle this, we teamed up with our AWF Divisional Manager, Hana Solomon, and her Dragon Boat Crew, the Women of Steel, who are training for the Club Crew World Championships in Italy.

We created a unique Health & Safety initiative to inspire our people, profiling a leading New Zealand sports team while also showing our workforce how injuries can impact their 'team' – whether that's their sports team, mates, work crew, or whānau.

The video was part of a multi-channel campaign for both our clients and our field employees, incorporating both digital communications and on-site activity to raise awareness.

Warming up properly in winter helps prevent injuries, keeping our people active, productive and safe. The campaign was a success, with 80% of employees who watched it saying they changed how they warmed up after seeing the video - check it out below!
