Salary: Negotiable

The roading season has kicked off in earnest now the big yellow thing in the sky has decided to show up, and that means Traffic Controllers are the hot demand and we need more in the Whangarei and Kaipara districts.

If you've done the work before you already know that the days are long, hot, and, depending where you might be working, dusty as well. It can be a thankless job at times when the public are all annoyed with you and seem to think you have a personal vendetta against them and that's why you're holding them up. What get's you through the day though, is you know that you have one of the more important roles to play on the job. You know it's your responsibility to keep yourself, the public and your workmates safe on that site. That's why you smile at that angry driver when you let them through the site after he/she has given the middle finger and advised you of your heritage, (even if it is with gritted teeth at times).

If you're keen to do it again and have a current TC ticket we want to hear from you ASAP, and if your Constructsafe certified as well, you go straight to the front of the line (if not we can sort that for you). So you can either apply on line and attach your CV, or email the CV direct to us at or better still bring your CV in to us at 33b Commerce Street and have a chat with us. If you're the shy type give us a call on 0800 88 88 60 (when the man answers, don't wait just enter 212), and ask for Haydn or Maire and have that chat. The usual pre-employment drug screen, MoJ check is required, and you must have your own transport.
