AWF Invercargill have an awesome opportunity for 2 traffic controllers working with our client focused around providing civil construction services on the Milford Road. This is a temporary role and is weather dependant, especially at this time of the year, but is a great opportunity to join a fantastic team of skilled individuals and gain experience in the civil sector.

This work is mostly dedicated to supporting the upkeep and maintenance of State Highway 94 which is a highly trafficked and very unique piece of road, being from this area you'll know all about the nature of the road and the sort of environment you'll be working in. The work is outdoors and the weather is changeable and sees more than it's fair share of cold and wet, so experience with working in the outdoors is preferred.

The Role;

Working with a team of experienced professionals and reporting to the site STMS, as a traffic controller you'll be responsible for managing the traffic flow through the work site and ensuring that members of the public as well as members of your team are kept safe at all times. You'll also be involved in the setup and removal of road works sites as well as some basic labouring duties.

Prior experience as a TC would be advantageous however is not a must have and AWF will assist you in obtaining your traffic control ticket through our training course we're holding on August 13th.

This work is mostly Monday - Friday however the odd weekend day may be required from time to time.

You will be easy to get along with and be passionate about keeping others safe, the Milford Alliance team is small and close knit but also high performing and willing to help each other out to be successful you'll need to fit in with this mindset to fit in with the team.

In addition to the above you'll need the following;

- To be local to Te Anau (or surrounding area)

- A minimum full class 1 New Zealand Drivers License (Class 2 would be an advantage)

- Level 1 Traffic Control Certificate (training will be provided on 13/8/2020)

- The right to work in New Zealand, and

- The ability to pass pre-employment checks including, Drugs and alcohol, ACC history and Criminal History

- A current CV with contactable work references
