THE ROLE

The role presents an excellent opportunity for an experienced agricultural/agribusiness professional to enhance their leadership skills within a growing, vertically integrated nationwide farming operation.

The role oversees multiple farms in East Otago and will focus on site management, and the development of people and processes. The role is based from their corporate head office in Dunedin, though much of your time may be spent on farm.

Reporting to the GM of Agribusiness, the role is responsible for the leadership and management of 5 farming operations in East Otago, and one farm in Canterbury. Core accountabilities will include

• Operational oversight of the farms

• Ensuring production is maximised and efficiencies are optimised in all aspects of the business

• Training and mentoring Farm Managers to ensure operational independence and success

• Assisting in the development and delivery of long-term plans

• Enhancing and developing processes and systems that reflect industry best practice

• Developing a continuous improvement culture within the farm teams

THE PERSON

The person we seek will possess a poultry or agricultural background, along with a strong understanding of NZ farming practices.

You will be high energy, practical in your approach, have natural leadership qualities and a genuine desire to mentor and develop your team. An understanding of agricultural business operations from a financial, compliance and quality platforms is also be held in high regard.
