Our client is a successful manufacturing business with a strong and reputable market presence both here and abroad - and significant growth is coming. They've set us a task to find the best food manufacturing Production Manager around.

They need a dynamic and charismatic leader to head up the production team; you will have a proven background in large scale production with automated plant. You will have an excellent knowledge and understanding of HSE, HACCP and Food Safety GMP requirements. You will be able to work in multicultural environment and have the ability to connect, lead and engage with Production staff, Quality, Sales and Administration teams. You will have a "can do" positive attitude, be highly organised and the ability to think on your feet.

What's a typical day in the life of a Production Manager like?

Day to day planning and management of all facets of production and staff.

Maximise line efficiency and lead meetings with direct reports to generate continuous improvement initiatives.

Ensuring production targets and objectives are met for each shift.

Ensure that HSE & Quality systems are adhered to and required data and records are maintained to the highest level of accuracy.

Train and develop team members in a continuous improvement environment.

Coordinate, direct and update BOMs in line with monthly stock take requirements.

Measure and report about daily, monthly performance.

Investigate any non-conformance issues and this is just the start.

Sounds good so far, what experience will I need?

3-5 years proven management experience in within a food manufacturing industry managing a minimum of 50 staff.

Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.

Excellent computer skills

An understanding of Lean methodology principals.

Excellent interpersonal skills and be able to lead from the front.

A high degree of problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure.

Planning and scheduling experience and be highly organised.

A positive motivated attitude, with a genuine desire to be part of a successful and valued team.

A focus on quality with a desire to exceed customer expectations every time.
