Job description
We are seeking an experienced Metal Machinist to join our team in Otago. You should have a good command of English both written and verbal, and experience with operating and programming CNC machinery to manufacture precision metal components.
Key responsibilities include:
- Setting up, programming, and operating CNC machines
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications
- Selecting, installing, and adjusting cutting tools and machine settings
- Producing precision metal parts to required tolerances and quality standards
- Monitoring machine operations and making necessary adjustments
- Inspecting finished products using measuring instruments and quality control equipment
- Performing routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting equipment issues
- Ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety requirements
- Maintaining accurate production and quality records
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- At least 3 years of relevant experience as a Metal Machinist or similar performing the key responsibilities above
- Strong knowledge of CNC machining processes, tooling, and machining techniques
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Experience using precision measuring instruments
