Location: Whangarei Central, Northland
Job Type: Temporary
Reference: 200136150_1561947670
Salary: Negotiable

Our client is well known internationally for getting the job done on time and to spec. They have asked us to help find them a Leading Hand for a site they have at Portland, preferably with experience in concrete repairing who knows how to get the best out of his team.

This is hands-on role that will keep you on your toes and busy, so the days will fly by. It is expected that you will have a solid background in civil construction (2-3 years) and it is preferred that you do have experience in concrete remedial work, but it's not a deal breaker. Thinking on your feet and problem solving is all part of the game. You will walk the talk when it comes to H&S and your management style will ensure your team is happy, up to the play with what's required for the day and together you make it happen. Some of your other tasks will be:

Work load- planning and organising plant, equipment, materials and staffing requirements (including sub-contractors)

Documenting daily H&S pre-starts

Assist managing any incidents/accidents that may occur in conjunction with the Site Engineer and Safety Coordinator

Train on-site staff to ensure adherence to the companies site safety, quality and environmental policies

Weekly timesheet recording

You know that as a Leading Hand on site there will be other tasks that get sent in your direction at times when others are way, and pressure comes on as deadlines approach.

Ok, so if you've got down to this far we've done well and you might be thinking about applying. Just do it. You can apply on line now and attach your CV, ensuring you have included at least 2 referees with contact details. Or, you can email it direct to me at terry.edgecombe@awf.co.nz. The other option is to bring it into us here at 33B Commerce Street and we can have a chat.

Standard pre-employment drug screening and MoJ checks will be carried out.

You must be already living in and legally allowed to be employed in New Zealand to be considered for this position.
