About the role;
Our client operating in the civil construction sector is seeking a class 4 driver to assist them in their Central Otago operation. The successful applicant will be transported as part of a team up to Central Otago on the Monday morning and return to Invercargill on the Friday evening. Accommodation will be provided and you will be paid an allowance of $60 (non-taxable) per night for food and other essentials.
The primary element of this role is driving a water cart (class 4 truck with a road ranger gearbox) wetting roads that are under construction, in addition to this there will be an element of labouring and so we're not looking for people that aren't willing to get out of their trucks.
This is roading and all of the work is done outdoors so we need someone who is no afraid of the weather, the successful applicant will see the best and the worst of it.
This role suits both experienced and beginner drivers, but it is essential that the person has a great attitude and is capable of getting on with the team of brilliant and diverse people, they will spending a lot of time with them.
To be successful in this role you will;
- Have a full New Zealand Class 4 Drivers Licence
- Have some prior experience with a road ranger gearbox
- Be physically fit and strong
- Have the right to work in New Zealand until March 2020 as a minimum
- Be easy going and freindly and have prior experience working as part of a team
- Be able to pass prior employment checks including criminal history and drug screening
- Have a current CV with 2 work references
- Be able to stay away from Invercargill during the week days
- Have a good level of personal hygiene
