AWF are looking for Carpenters who have a minimum of three years experience for positions across Auckland. You should have a good command of English, local experience within construction sites and are competent and comfortable to liaise with Construction site personnel. For health and safety reasons we will require the right applicant to pass a pre-employment drug screen.

The ideal Candidate will have:

• Reliable transport to get to and from work
• A Site Safe or Construct Safe certificate
• Able to pass a Drug-Screen
• Clean criminal history
• EWP ticket would be advantageous
• NZ Citizenship / Residence Visa

Responsibilities:

• Study drawings and specifications to determine materials required dimensions and installation procedure
• Order and select timber and materials, and prepare layouts
• Cut materials, and assembling and nailing cut and shaped parts
• Conduct erecting framework and roof framing, laying sub-flooring and floorboards and verification of trueness of structures
• Nail fascia panels, sheath roofs, and fit exterior wall cladding and door and window frames
• Assemble prepared wood to form structures and fittings ready to install
• Cut wood joints
• Construct concrete framework
• Repair existing fittings
• May work with plastic laminates, Perspex and metals
