Our Client is currently seeking applicants for an Expediting Support Role in support of a major planned site shutdown. The role will likely commence late October and be a Monday to Friday position through to the shutdown commencement next year (approximately 6 months).
The successful applicant will be required to liaise regularly between suppliers and key business stakeholders to ensure all materials are ordered on time and delivered on time to enable a successful shutdown.
This role is seen as instrumental in enabling alternative plans to be put in place and to mitigate risk resulting from late orders or deliveries.
The successful applicant will have excellent written and oral communication skills, will be able to quickly build a rapport with both suppliers and business stakeholders, and will have impeccable time management capability.
Role Dimension: To expedite $80m worth of materials across 21,000 purchase orders
Key Tasks are:
On a weekly basis, liaise with all suppliers / freight forwarders and update delivery times for ordered materials in Maximo.
Report on the status of materials to each projects team
Escalate any delivery concerns to the relevant C&P person.
On a weekly basis, liaise with the Projects teams/materials planners on materials requirements and ensure orders are placed by the required category lead time.
Liaise with the warehouse on the status of bag/tag and consumable orders
Escalate any late order concerns.
Monitor and report on weekly supplier delivery performance / escalate where need be.
Review and update supplier lead time information in Maximo.
Any other general team administration support as required.
This is a pivotal role for the shutdown, and experience is the key to securing the role.
