Nelson

Nelson is the geographical centre of New Zealand and therefore the universe. Just kidding… kind of.

The economy is based on the 'big five' industries: seafood, horticulture, forestry, farming and tourism – we even have the biggest fishing port in Australasia! With more and more people wanting to move & make the most of Nelson’s fantastic weather, the region is growing steadily and we’ve seen a huge spike in the building and construction industry.

We employ for roles including Civil Construction, Administration, Traffic Controllers, Machine Operators, Delivery Drivers, Timber Workers, Factory Hands and General Labourers so no matter what you’re looking for, we can help.

Meet the team

Chris Hensley
Recruitment Consultant

Chris is our resident story teller, priding himself on delivering excellent customer service and a good yarn. Coming to AWF after several years in Australia running bars and hotels, he’s got the gift of the gab, and the patience of a saint (Bernard). Chris works closely with our customers and candidates which gives him an excellent perspective on recruiting the right person for the job.

David Murray
Recruitment Consultant

David, our early riser and in-house problem solver, is very adept with clients and candidates alike. He’s well known throughout Nelson, having worked for Coca-Cola for many years and has a phone voice that any telemarketer would be envious of.

Matthew Harrison
Team Leader
Matt joined AWF after many years running banks so he has an acute understanding of what’s important to a business. Matt enjoys visiting clients and employees on site to gain understanding of business needs and role requirements. He’s passionate about how we can help make a difference in the lives of our people and their families.

Tanya Fisher
Candidate Consultant

From here to there and back again (well Tawa to Nelson via Auckland) is our delightful office spark plug. Tanya comes from a background in insurance, so she is very good at getting the right information out of people. She is very accepting of people, their strengths and weaknesses, pro’s and cons, it’s a prerequisite when working with Dave, Matt and Chris.
