Q. Will the Trades People I seek be Site Safe trained?
A. For construction and roading sites we endeavour to have available sufficient numbers of certified staff to meet our clients’ ongoing requirements. At AWF we have our own salaried Site Safe and Traffic Control trainers across the country. We are able to train new staff quickly but may need to place inducted yet uncertified staff with you whilst they wait up to 10 days for a course.
Q. Will the Trades People I need come with their own tools and PPE?
A. All AWF employees will present to your site with full Personal Protective Equipment i.e. hardhat, highviz vest, hearing and eye protection, safety boots and any other safety wear you stipulate.
Our Trades People also have their own tools. Our branch Operations Managers will ask you how well kitted out they need to be for particular jobs and what vehicle access/tool security you’re able to offer for full tool sets if left on site.
Q. How much responsibility does AWF take for the safety of its Trades People?
A. In addition to our comprehensive Health & Safety Induction and Site Safe Training/Certification, AWF regularly visits all work sites where our Trades People are placed. Our ACC Tertiary Accreditation and Partnership Programme status mean we must conduct regular site safety audits and participate in toolbox meetings. We also require both our clients and employees to advise us immediately of any incidents requiring medical treatment and near misses. Because our employees are under the care, control and supervision of client supervisors and managers, we partner with our clients to ensure highest levels of safety.
