About AWF Manufacturing & Logistics

AWF Manufacturing and Logistics was established as a division of AWF Group in 2008 to meet the increasing demands for specialist staff for these sectors and to strengthen AWF’s focus on delivering specialist labour to the ‘indoor’ manufacturing, processing and distribution sectors.

DIstribution StaffFor the past 24 years AWF has delivered services to these sectors through its 29 branches across New Zealand. However in 2008 AWF refocused this brand by establishing specialist branches. You will only get the best in temporary staff from AWF Manufacturing and Logistics.

Temporary staff are used in most industries and by most companies around the globe. It is not uncommon for multi national companies to employ up to 10% of their workforce as temporary staff. So why?

Flexibility is the main reason. Whether a business is seasonal, weather dependent or cyclical in terms of demand, what better way to ensure unproductive labour is not a cost burden, than to employ staff only when they are producing.

AWF Manufacturing and Logistics predominantly provides temporary staff to manufacturing, food processing, warehousing and logistics. Many businesses in these sectors have high and low seasons, with peak demands in periods like pre-Christmas and throughout summer. Choosing when to utilise temporary labour is an instant saving in such circumstances.

Along with flexibility comes convenience. Employment law can be a minefield. It is difficult to be sure you have always employed the right person for the job. What better way to be sure than to employ staff on a temporary basis for a few months and then to transition them, at no extra cost, to your permanent workforce.

For the prospective temporary worker, we ask that they visit one of the 29 AWF branches to discuss ambitions with them. Following screening and interview processes, we arrange a time for induction, security and drug screening and a one on one interview. At this stage we address Health and Safety in the workplace together with courtesy, work ethic, compensation and of course the terms of our Employment Agreement. Most often, provided the skills match the needs of the moment we will be able to place new temporary workers within a day a day or two.
